Child Protection

New Ways Organization Activities in Child Protection

New Ways Organization works to improve the safety, wellbeing and protection of children affected by conflict, displacement, drought and other humanitarian pressures.

Our child protection work strengthens safe environments for children at home, in schools and in their communities. It includes awareness of child-protection risks, community engagement, psychosocial support, referral and case-management services for children who require additional assistance.

Key activities include:

  • raising awareness among children, caregivers and communities about child rights and protection risks;
  • strengthening community-based and school-based child protection mechanisms;
  • training and supporting child-protection focal points and community structures;
  • identifying and referring children with protection concerns for appropriate services;
  • providing psychosocial support and improving access to timely case-management services;
  • working with local authorities and service providers to strengthen child-centred referral pathways and responses.

Through these interventions, New Ways Organization aims to improve the protective environment for children and strengthen their safety and psychosocial wellbeing.
